NRA Basic Pistol Instruction

If you are a new shooter or if you’ve never had good, formal instruction in handgun fundamentals, this is the course for you. It is perfect for before you take a concealed carry or armed self-defense course.

A pistol, or handgun, is a firearm designed to be fired while being held in just one or two hands. While such firearms are small, compact, and extremely useful, they can be the hardest to learn. That is why this course stresses safety, handgun grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, and trigger control. There are two phases in the course. Phase 1 is taken online and Phase 2 is outside shooting.

The cost is $60 paid directly to the NRA when you sign up for the Phase 1 online portion of the course. For the Phase 2 shooting portion, the instructor time, ammunition, and access to a variety of handguns are all donated as a service to the members of our great range.

You do not need to own a handgun for this course. Handguns and ammunition can be provided.

Please let me know if you are interested and we will help you signed up online with the NRA.
