Cowboy action went well over the winter months.  Everyone had a great time and most of the time the weather was great on the day of the shoot.  Pictures of the winter events are on this site as well as the scores for the winter.

Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) shoots will begin with the shoot on April 10th.  The monthly shoots will be on the second Saturday through September.  The only exception is there will not be a shoot in July.

The dates are listed below.

       April 10th,  May 8th, June 12, Aug 14th, Sept 11th

The shoot fee is $10 and free for juniors.  Each monthly shoot consists of six SASS stages, and may include a special shoot after main matches.  The ammunition needed to shoot the course is 60 rounds pistol, 60 rounds rifle and 25 rounds shotgun.  Lead bullets only and shot no larger than #4.   New shooters are always welcome. Everyone enjoys showing people how much fun can be had shooting guns of the old west dressed up in clothing of time.

Firearms need to participate in Cowboy action are two single action revolvers, a lever action rifle, and a shotgun. Cowboy action shooting is a multi-faceted shooting sport in which contests compete with firearms typical of those used in the taming of the Old West.  The shooting competition is staged in a unique, characterized, “Old West” style. It is  a timed sport in which shooter competes for prestige on a course of different shooting stages. For more specific information visit the SASS web page at
